NEWSPAPER PROJECT

Students will be individually assessed on this project.

Requirements:

1.) Each student must write a minimal of one page.

2.) Each student will be marked on their ability to show consideration of the setting, time and location of The Chrysalids.

3.) Each student will be held responsible for their own writing and the language used.

4.)Each student will be held accountable for their own section; although you have an editor, it is not their job to write, re-write and/or change the material of your work

5.) The editors will also have to write at least one-page in the paper. Their page will be the "Editors Note".

6.) In addition, the editor will be in charge of collecting and organizing the material. The editors job is NOT, I repeat NOT, to babysit your progress and/or do the work for you.

Entertainment
Comic/games/horoscopes
Sports
Travel
Technological advances
History Reports
Personal Ads.Obituaries
ETC.
 

• The assignment will require: pictures (original and/or properly cited), news stories and editorials.

• Post finished newspaper articles on your group's WIKI PAGE in the projects area.

• Editor brings together all the articles in their group and arranges into a finished newspaper and checks posts on the WIKI PAGE

• All students should read all the posts/articles so they can see the issues from multiple perspectives and not just from the point of view they adopted.

• Comment on one another's wiki pages.

En10 Groups:

• The Waknuk Star Tabloid Group: published the day Waknuk goes after the known telepath mutants with highly sensationalized reports and commentary on the Chrysalids' danger to Waknuk society and the "True Image of Man"

• The London Times Group: is going to report and comment on the same events echoing what might be our society's point of view if similar events were to occur

• The Utopian Reader Group: is going to report and comment on the same events in a manner consistent with Sealand's point of vie
